Flowering Mariesii 3-4

Viburnum is the genus of about 160 flowering plants and small trees in the moschatel family. The Mariesii, named in honor of Charles Maries (1851-1902) was a gardener in Chelsea, London.  It is also know as a "doublefile viburnum" due to the layering of it's branches.  It can grow up to 12 feet tall and spread 15 feet wide.  It is deciduous (the leaves drop in the Fall) with white flowers.  Fertilized flowers blossom into red berry-like fruit nourishing small birds.
