Our compost is made from aged manure that has been composted for 6 months to a year. Our compost is stored in piles to produce a heat treatment to breakdown the manure and straw substrate and produce a fine quality compost. Lastly, we screen our compost before stockpiling it a final time. This manure is perfect for lawns and ready to be added to a garden for great enrichment.
Manure from local Carroll County farms is a gardener's best friend. The manure is naturally hot so it should be used with care to avoid burning plants. Expect straw in the manure and the general appearance of dung. Many gardeners spread the manure in the fall then till it into the top 6 inches in the spring a month before planting.
